HOW TO RAISE MONARCH BUTTERFLIES with HELEN YOEST

Saturday, June 22, 2019

10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

LOGAN’S & RALEIGH CITY FARM in association with BEE BETTER present….

CELEBRATE NATIONAL POLLINATOR WEEK!

Wonder how YOU can help the Monarch butterfly!

In the last 20 years, the Monarch butterfly has declined by 90% and this declined has been traced back to early 1900s, and even more so on the West Coast with a decline of upwards  of 97%

The decline of the milkweed plant is in direct correlation with the decline the Monarch butterflies. Milkweed is the Monarch butterfly’s only host plant. Without milkweed, there will be no Monarch butterflies.

By planting more milkweed, and raising eggs and larvae to adulthood, you can increase the chances of an egg reaching adulthood from just 5% to 95%.

It’s easy. It’s fun. And it’s for the whole family!!!
