From Season to Season

Who would have known forty years ago what would become of such a simple budding idea?
In 1965 Robert Logan Sr. or "Bob" as his customers came to call him, was full of determination to start his own business. His first idea was to put vending machines that dispensed worms around a local lake to make fishing the most convenient past-time around. But as the soil of imagination was cultivated Mr. Logan pruned his thoughts toward the concept of selling produce and bedding plants at a local Farmers Market shed. Strong will, resolve, and the contagious smile of that keen salesman turned a dream into success as LOGAN TRADING COMPANY was formed and grew into what is today a thriving gardening oasis.

As the seasons changed, a new Robert Logan put his hands to the plow.
With his father's heart and fresh vision, Robert Logan Jr. continued to grow this business after the passing of his father and the father of Logan Trading Company. With family values and the pursuit of excellence as his guide, Robert M. Logan Jr. stepped out on a track of faith as he relocated to the old Seaboard Railroad station in 1991. Since then, LOGAN'S has flourished into not only a favorite place to shop, but a charming place to visit. The new location offers a variety of "stations" for shoppers to explore and learn about gardening. It is also home to a popular lunch spot, "the Seaboard Café" where one can relax and enjoy the ambiance of good food and outdoor living.

The transition of one season to another requires that plants do two things:
dig deeper roots, and expand into larger areas as they reproduce themselves. We will continue to hold fast to the values on which we were planted, and expatiate onto new soils as we develop fresh ideas. LOGAN's has been blessed and honored to be the recipient of various awards including Spectator Magazine's "Best In The Triangle", Metro Magazine's "Metro Bravo Standing Ovation" for the Best Garden Center. LOGAN's has also been recognized by the City of Raleigh, the State of North Carolina, and various Historic interests for the preservation and restoration of the historic Seaboard Railroad Station. Our goal is to be an ever-changing, ever-growing, pillar within our community. We hope to till the ground of new territory as we expand, and explore new horizons as leaders in providing quality product to quality people. The faces may change, as seasons do, but one thing that LOGAN's will always strive to be is a sanctuary for the customers whom we value and recognize to be the reason we can and will grow to higher levels of service.

Logan's expand into a new facility in 1991 with the purchase and renovation of the Bagwell Seaboard Railroad Station in downtown Raleigh. We know firsthand how to transform old spaces into gardening oasises, let Logan's help you do the same.
As blessings have rained down on us, the lives of our family members have been enriched by the dream of one special man.
It is now our deepest desire to move forward in producing great business with quality and values as our tools. Come see for yourself how ideas can spring to life as you share your seasons with us. LOGAN'S...your one stop garden shop!
