Mark your calendar in March for our Second Saturday Series – the Plant a Row Kick-Off Event. Last year we collected 16,644 POUNDS of FRESH PRODUCE for the hungry in Raleigh!!! Our goal this year is 20,000 POUNDS!!!!! Our Kick-Off event will have more classes and activities than ever before! Sign up to participate in PAR at the Kick-Off Event, and receive a Goodie Bag filled with coupons, freebies and more. Be sure to enter into our drawing for a chance to WIN a Composter for your garden! Join us for FREE classes including “Starting a Community/Neighborhood Garden”, “Gardening for Beginners”, Q&A with experienced gardeners, demonstrations, kids activities and more! Event: 10am-4pm
10AM – 4PM: Sign up to participate in Plant A Row, Sign up to WIN a Composter
10AM: Kid’s Gardening Class – Free Class, (For Ages 5+), Parents must accompany children to the class, 20 minute class
11AM: Starting a Community Garden - Free Class with Cullen Whitley, Highland United Methodist Church Garden Coordinator
11AM – 3PM: Kids Activity – Paint a Pot, Plant a Salad, Free Activity
12PM – 4PM: Visit our booths which will feature different garden topics, community garden representatives, garden ideas, Raleigh City Farm and more!
2PM: “I Signed Up for Plant A Row…Now What?” – Free Class to answer your questions about Plant A Row and help you get your garden started, gardening for beginners.
3PM: Kid’s Gardening Class – Free Class, (For Ages 5+), Parents must accompany children to the class, 20 minute class
4PM: Drawing to win a Composter

Mustard Seed Garden – Hayes Barton United Methodist Church – The Garden launched in 2010 as an outreach project of Hayes Barton Methodist Church
CompostNOW – A local residential food waste shuttle
The Rain Barrel Co – A local company started by a 12 year old boy in 2007, Local NC Product
The Egg Yolk – portable chicken coops, local NC product
Sixth Sun – Non-profit promoting sustainable, community-based lifestyle through gardens
Bonide – Lawn Expert
